We're Stardust.

without a doubt, In my mind, this is the most beautiful and inspiring
knowledge that science has given us.

Full quote:
"The amazing thing is that every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way they could get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. So, forget Jesus. The stars died so that you could be here today."

I remember when I first read that quote.

I was going through the deep, darkly beautiful side of manic depression and looking at random quotes about death and pain. I'm so cliche it's kinda endearing.

And well that quote came up. And the guy who posted it said it helped him accept dying. He said he'd been having panic attacks recently and was becoming more and more awear of his mortality. But then he read this quote. And things clicked.

Dying, while scary, is one of the greatest things we will do in our lives. Not just us as people but us on a universal scope. When we die, we give way for life.

The stars died for us. The trees died for winter. The mouse died for the snake. We die for humanities future.

Everything dies for something and everything. The big bang was the first mayte and it's the first and continues generous moment.
